  • To begin, log in to QuickBooks Online.
  • From the homepage tap on the + New sign and select pay bills right below the vendor column. The pay bill window will display.
  • Payment Account–  From the drop-down select the bank account that will make these payments. Payment Date– In the payment date field simply enter your check date. (Note: If you are paying one bill from different accounts [for example, half payment by cheque and half payment by credit card], or recording different payments on different dates, you have to enter every partial payment independently.)
  • Starting check no.– In this field enter the starting cheque number that you will load into the printer if you are going to print check immediately. If not select the print later option.
  • QuickBooks provides you notification of the number of outstanding bills that you have to pay.
  • You can also select Filter to get a precise list of the bills you wish to tag. Select Apply. (By default, it will show due bills in the span of the past 365 days. But you can filter those by the due date, date range, certain date range[enter date in the To area and leave From region empty], specific Payee, Location, Overdue.)
  • After that, you can sort by a specific column by selecting the column header and also arrange in either ascending or descending order. The sorting can be done based on the Payee, Reference No., Due Date, Open Balance. (Note: The number of rows displayed can also be altered from the Setting by an icon that is located above the Total Amount column.)
